Should you invest in the stock market?

Posted by: myrobert

Interest rates are at their lowest level these days. A time deposit may only give you 4.5% for a one million placement. Last year, the Philippine stock market performed spectacularly with a 42.3% increased from 2005. What a good way to start investing in the stock market with a figure like that!

Be forewarned though, the stock market is not for the faint of heart. While your principal can go up 42% in one year, you can also loose the same. Invest only your extra money and learn the basics of stock investing through the PSE website. At the current level (which is the peak), wait for corrections before investing.

The stock market will probably continue its bull run towards the end of 2007. Its very hard to say though which stock to buy. For the risk averse people, you can always invest in equity mutual funds of balanced funds.
