How I Saved More than Php 1000 from Aircon Repair

Posted by: myrobert

My car aircon gave up today when white smokes started to come out of the air vent. The smoke is so bad that I thought the car will start to burn.

Car aircon repairs can be costly if you do not get the right estimate. My first quote was Php 1,700 to have the aircon pulled down, cleaned and recharged with new freon. If the evaporator has a problem, replacement cost will be around Php 5,500. Wow, very expensive.

I decided to go back to a trusted aircon mechanic eventhough his place is quite far from where I stay now. The diagnosis, my evaporator has a hole. The result, a welding on the evaporator to close the hole, cleaning and new refridgerant. The damage, only Php 700.

Interested to know where I had the aircon fixed? Leave me a comment and I’ll tell you.

The name of the person is Mang Mario. He operates is shop from his home. His shop is located at #46 Fort Santiago St, near the back of SM City North Edsa.

Parking is available in front of his house and I think he can accomodate 5 vehicles all at the same time. He has several mechanics to do the job.

I don’t have his number anymore.
