Posted by: myrobert

This week was a tragic, full of cries, agony, lament and all that words that can describe how painful it was for most Filipinos, especially to those who lost their loved ones.

So true that no one, even superman, can stop nature from striking back.

Typhoon Ondoy strikes Metro Manila and the whole Luzon in a snap leaving thousands homeless, shelter washed out, hundreds killed, and a memory that will painfully leaves on forever.

Marikina, Pasig and Rizal province has the most number of casualties, many houses remains sinking with water while many other still need rescues and assistance.

However, on a positive note, what makes this tragedy good in a way is how it reinvented the “Bayanihan” amongst us.

Aside from the aid coming from the government, many Filipinos left their work to join the relief operations and willingly lend a helping hand.

Upon writing this article, super typhoon “Pepeng” has reached the Philippine territory and is expected to be much stronger than Ondoy. This time, the government  had already warned the public to be prepared and be safe.

Back to Ondoy, relief and rescue operation are still on going. However, supplies are not enough to help the affected families. People are encouraged to donate used clothes, foods, water, blankets and even cash to DSWD or otehr organization like GMA Kapuso Foundation, National Redcross, and ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya.
