The Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) hosts this year’s World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention. Over 3,000 business delegates from 22 countries and regions will attend this much anticipated event. As representatives of various business organizations and chamber of commerce, this year’s WCEC, is set to be one of the most notable events in the business community showcasing the best of Chinese entrepreneurship.
Since 1954, the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) has been tirelessly channeling its efforts to unite the Chinese-Filipino community, promote the growth of business, and implement social welfare projects to bring about continuous growth for the whole country. Thus, it has long been recognized as dependable partner in nation building.
It has a network of 170 member organizations all over the Philippines which all play vital roles in the sectors, industries and communities where they are involved. Now as the growth of the local economy continues to gain momentum, the FFCCCII continues on with its tradition of service to Filipino nation by encouraging investments in the Philippines in various fields such as agriculture, tourism, mining, energy, information and communications technology services and other competitive industries.
This is why FFCCCII makes a fitting host for the 10th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC), which will be held in Manila on November 19 to 22, 2009.
Conceptualized by the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the WCEC aims to provide a forum for overseas Chinese entrepreneurs and business communities all over the world. A political in nature, the WCEC’s mission is to focus on economic and cultural issues pertaining to Chinese entrepreneurship.
It is a highly-anticipated biennial event for Chinese entrepreneurs around the globe as the convention aims to establish an economic network linking Chinese entrepreneurs worldwide. The three founding members of the Convention are: the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (HK), and the Tai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
While all the past WCECs each had its distinguishing features, FFCCCII promises the participants of this year’s WCEC will have a lot to look forward to.
As the federation aims to enjoin Chinese entrepreneurs from all over the world to work together and combine their talents and capabilities to bring prosperity to the world and address the challenges of the global crisis FFCCCII came up with the theme World prosperity through Chinese Entrepreneurship for this year’s convention.
Aside from trying to find ways on how participating Chinese entrepreneurs can work together in fighting possible challenges in business and create better business opportunities, FFCCCII, which has been an advocate for corporate social responsibility for more than five decades, also shares its growth-oriented advocacies and social development programs and projects.
FFCCCII’s Operation: Barrio School is actually the longest running and biggest private sector-led development program focused on educational infrastructure. Meanwhile, the Federation ahs also spearheaded a slew of the major projects such as the establishment of volunteer fire brigades to augment government firefighting efforts, medical missions that provide free medical and dental services and free medicines to indigents, and relief operations in times of calamities.
More than just being successful entrepreneurs, the FFCCCII would like to imbibe the spirit of camaraderie and a deep sense of social responsibility among its members, which in turn would also be an integral part of this year’s WCEC.
